LAS SERPIENTES DEL GÉNERO ATRACTUS WAGLER, 1828 (COLUBRIDAE, XENODONTINAE) EN LA AMAZONIA COLOMBIANA

Abstract

Se presenta un estudio biológico y ecológico del género Atractus Wagler, 1828, en la región amazónica colombiana. Un total de 113 especímenes fueron obtenidos mediante un muestreo realizado en 40 puestos de captura ubicados en las diferentes regiones naturales. Se describen las características de los hábitats y biotopos donde se hallaron las diferentes especies. Tras el análisis de la muestra se identificaron cuatro taxones ya registrados para Colombia [A. elaps (Günther, 1868); A. latifrons (Günther, 1868); A. major Boulenger, 1894; A. occipitoalbus (Jan, 1862)]. Dos especies constituyen nuevos registros [A. snethlagae Cunha & Nascimento, 1983; A. zidoki Gasc & Rodríguez, 1979]. Se describen siete nuevas especies [A. charitoae. sp. nov., A. emersoni. sp. nov., A. davidhardi. sp. nov., A. helibelluomin. sp. nov., A. emersoni. sp. nov., A. janethae. sp. nov. y A. lucilae sp. nov.]. Se analizan los aspectos reproductivos, alimenticios y las características de los diferentes hábitats.

A biological and ecological study of the genus Atractus Wagler, 1828, in the Colombian Amazon region is presented . A total of 113 specimens were obtained through sampling carried out at 40 capture stations located in different natural regions. The characteristics of the habitats and biotopes where the different species were found are described. After analysis of the sample, four taxa already recorded for Colombia were identified [ A. elaps (Günther, 1868); A. latifrons (Günther, 1868); A. major Boulenger, 1894; A. occipitoalbus (Jan, 1862)]. Two species constitute new records [ A. snethlagae Cunha & Nascimento, 1983; A. zidoki Gasc & Rodríguez, 1979]. Seven new species are described [ A. charitoae. sp. nov., A. emersoni . sp. nov., A. davidhardi. sp. nov., A. helibelluomin. sp. nov., A. emersoni. sp. nov., A. janethae. sp. nov. and A. lucilae sp. nov.]. The reproductive and nutritional aspects and the characteristics of the different habitats are analyzed.
